Michaelidou L.L.C set up in 2011 by a UK Solicitor (a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority) and a Cyprus lawyer (a member of the Cyprus Bar Association), Jane Michaelidou. Jane is a full member of the Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners (STEP), a Certified Director and has a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD), UK.
Through her decades of experience as a legal practitioner, trust and corporate service provider, Jane, through Caspian Management, her law firm, and in cooperation with local tax advisors and global business partners, is able to offer bespoke advice and solutions for the structuring of business, assets and family wealth for better protection, growth and succession planning.
Jane is a UK Solicitor and member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority and maintains her name on the Solicitor’s Roll.
With experience from the UK in litigation, family and probate law, Jane moved to Cyprus in 1998 where she joined a large law firm working in their corporate department.
In 2003 Jane joined an international corporate service provider as their director. Working as their in-house lawyer and compliance officer. Providing director services to client companies and acting as trustee on Cyprus International Trusts and Trust funds, Jane worked there for 8 years before setting up her own law firm, in 2011 becoming a full member of the Cyprus Bar Association.
For 11 years Jane worked closely with another Cyprus corporate service provider successfully completing and submitting their application for an ASP licence with CySec, appointed as their Internal Auditor for compliance with yearly reporting prepared and submitted to CySec, acting as director on limited liability companies, making informed decisions on behalf of the companies.
Jane has gained experience in risk assessment and risk management for companies (including client companies), directors and shareholders and has assisted clients in investments in start-ups, tech companies and listed companies. Jane has assisted AIFM Companies with their application to CySec on changes to shareholding, structure and M&As.
Jane is a full member of STEP (Society of Estate and Trust Practitioners) and has a Diploma from and is a Certified Director of the Institute of Directors (IoD) of the UK. The IoD is a British professional organisation for company directors, senior business leaders and entrepreneurs.
Throughout her years’ experience in the industry both corporate and legal, Jane has built relations with intermediaries and business partners internationally thereby offering the clients solutions and flexible access to a comprehensive array of services, thus providing the clients top service both personally and materially.
Bhrona moved to Cyprus in 2005 to work in the busy hospitality and tourism sector as an operations manager.
In 2008 Bhrona joined an international corporate service provider, a market leader in the provision of offshore, contracting and property services based in Cyprus, in a senior company administration role. During her tenure, Bhrona gained an in depth understanding of corporate administration and management of Cyprus and non-Cyprus companies. Responsible for the management and administration of 130 companies whilst providing excellent service to the clients by taking time to understand their needs and making sure their expectations were met and exceeded.
In 2011 Bhrona joined a Cyprus Trust company regulated by CySec as a senior trust administrator. In her 10 years at the company, Bhrona has managed trusts with values of over £100m, she has dealt with all areas of trust administration, including trust investments, trust migrations, trust accounts and trust windups. Complying with duties dictated within trust documentation along with those set out under trust law including preparing various deeds, opening and operating thousands of bank accounts with numerous international banks, effecting millions of pounds worth of transfers to beneficiaries and borrowers.
Bhrona gained experience in reporting UK sourced income to HMRC and withholding the appropriate tax, preparing and filing thousands of trust tax returns and calculating tax balances and payments on account, ahead of HMRC deadlines.
Bhrona has reviewed trust investment proposals for the benefit of the client and facilitated and attended high-level director meetings.
With her wealth of Corporate and Trust experience and knowledge Bhrona brings with her interdisciplinary thinking and action to ensure the client’s needs are not only met but exceeded and she maintains and understands the importance of good client relations.
